As an active member since 2007, I have witnessed the growth and development of ECFS into a professional student society that caters for its diverse member base of students from the Faculty of Business and Economics. As the ECFS President for 2011, I will lead and motivate our team to achieve our 2011 goals of delivering relevant and exciting events and improving the connection between our sponsors and members. This year will see the return of our popular careers events, business strategy competition and an even bigger and more exciting camp. We have also planned to introduce a new surprise social event and a new competition.
For those wanting to join, make sure you visit us at our O-Week stall in the main courtyard area, and for those wanting to take the initiative and participate in ECFS; please enquire about becoming an active member.

How do you see ECFS differentiate from other student societies?
Being a part of ECFS has shown me how diverse we are as opposed to other student societies. ECFS accommodates the majority of students studying within the Faculty of Business and Economics, such as economics, finance and commerce. I believe that we can offer students the opportunity to learn, experience and benefit from our events and programs.
What makes you excited about ECFS in 2011?
All the new people I will meet, the knowledge I will gain from being a part of ECFS and the social endeavors yet to come for this upcoming year, especially the camp!
What would you bring to the team and make ECFS more awesome?
As Project Development Executive, my role is to develop and execute new and current ECFS activities, projects, competitions and career publications. These include the Internship Program and events such as O-Week, Diversity Week, MacFest and other social events. I hope to make this year’s events more fun and enjoyable, yet allow members to achieve a practical learning experience at the same time.

ECFS is holding its annual camp in first semester in 2011. This is the second year that this event is running and is a must have on your calendar for 2011.
What would you bring to the team and make ECFS more awesome?
I can contribute my understanding from prior experiences as well as my organisational skills in order to coordinate social events, which will allow members to partake in networking and societal activities, which will enhance their future academic professions.

Fun fact about yourself?
Coming from Wagga Wagga, a rural city in NSW, I have experienced the feeling of 1000 flies (or what it seems) on my face, the early morning wake up calls from the horses, sheep and chooks outside my bedroom window, and witnessed my first traffic light at age 12 (ha-ha, joking).
- ECFS Active Member, 2010

As a third year business student, I am working part time in St George Bank at the moment and looking forward to building my career in banking and financial industry. I love to meet new friends, travel around, do body pump and am a big foodie. Please say ‘Hi’ if you see me around. =)

I
strongly encourage everyone to participate in as many events on campus as

and having fun along the way.

We’re simply the best society on campus, there are no other words for it.

New projects in the wind. And of course, the BSC!
What would you bring to the team and make ECFS more awesome?
I’m going to bring ME to the team and I know that my personality, my
organized self and the fact that I am a strong team player will make ECFS
even better than it already is.
A fun fact about yourself?
I’m a bit of a social media tragic (but come on, who isn’t in this day and
age). And in the same vein... why, my blog’s 4 year old birthday is just
round the corner.
James Chen
IT/Media Executive: j.chen@ecfs.com.au
Degree: B. Actuarial Studies
How do you see ECFS differentiate from other student societies?
What makes ECFS stronger than other student society is that every student who majors in either Economics, or Commerce, or Finance is able to find his or her own relevance to our elaborately organized events.
What makes you excited about ECFS in 2011?
Personally, next year’s Business Strategy Competition (BSC). I joined BSC in 2010, and gained invaluable experience of managing business strategy, and also priceless advice and insights from the professional in the consultancy field.
What would you bring to the team and make ECFS more awesome?
I strive to improve the efficiency of
internal communication and cooperation, and more importantly, to present and publicize
ECFS to student population as a professional and fun student body.
A fun fact about yourself?
I taught myself to play guitar and I post my guitar covers on own Youtube channel, and it is the most viewed channel on Youtube. Oh didn I say most? I mean least.
Chi Hieu Nguyen

How do you see ECFS differentiate from other student societies?
It offers a friendly environment where students can participate in events that build necessary knowledge and experiences for their future careers. Yet it also allows the members to meet up and have fun through other events like the pool competition.
What makes you excited about ECFS in 2011?
I am looking forward to everything like the Business Strategy Competition because previously I have not actively been involved in a business and economics society.
What would you bring to the team and make ECFS more awesome?
My aim is to use my existing knowledge of IT and from involvement in other student societies to work with the team to effectively and efficiently communicate information to our members and also to increase the university’s and the general public’s general awareness of the society.
A fun fact about yourself?
I like to try everything like learning piano through Youtube and music mixing but in the end I am either too lazy or can’t be bothered to continue. Besides that I enjoy occasional sketching and baking.
Bat-Uul Baldandorj
Academic Relations Executive: b.baldandorj@ecfs.com.au

How do you see ECFS differentiate from other student societies?
If ECFS was a football club, it has the biggest fan base, prestigious sponsors, quality players, competes in major league and tournaments, and has an excellent academy that supports the players’ exceptional career development for the future. That is what sets us apart.
What makes you excited about ECFS in 2011?
As a part of the new executive team in 2011, I am looking forward to meeting and working closely with the students with the students to aid to enrich their academic repertoire.
What would you bring to the team and make ECFS more awesome?
I will do my best to effectively liaise between the ECFS members and the academics and help the students to truly benefit from the society academically. Also the members should expect a more integrated and effective academic support.
A fun fact about yourself?
I used to ride race horses when I was 12 years old and now every summer I help out as an assistant trainer.
